Thought Patterns for Success - A Preface

Today, I'm going to start my series on the Lou Tice program, Thought Patterns for Success, from the Pacific Institute. As I've said in earlier posts, this program has done more than anything to contribute to my success mindset and personal growth. I'm now a facilitator for the program, and I enjoy sharing these principles with people everyday.

The best thing about Thought Patterns for Success is that it's rooted in 4 main concepts. These concepts are simple, but they'll produce results in your life when you put them into practice. You see, Lou Tice is an expert at showing people how the mind actually works. Lou says, "we do not teach people what to think, we teach them how to think."

Here are the 4 main concepts that the series is based on...
  1. Personal accountability - The future is in my own hands. I'm responsible for the results in my life. Blaming others or circumstances is not an effective way of dealing with life.
  2. Self-Efficacy - Success doesn't rest on my abilities, instead it comes from my belief in my abilities. Learning how to believe in my ability makes things happen.
  3. Positive Self-Talk - I move toward what I think. This is an ancient principle that all great leaders have shared. My self-talk is the single most important thing in creating a successful future.
  4. End Result Thinking - Thinking in terms of the goal or possibility helps me achieve my potential.
There you have it. Each post in my series will be based on these 4 concepts.

I'm not selling Lou's program. In other words, links in this series are not affiliate links. So, although I'm an internet marketer and make money online, I'm not selling anything here. You may see an occasional book link from Amazon, but any links to Lou Tice's material are affiliate-free (in case that makes a difference to you).

This information has transformed my thinking and life results. I hope you find value in it. The next post will be about "what holds us back". Until then...all the best!

Lock Your Focus and Succeed

In addition to my success as a network marketer, I also have my day j.o.b.

I'm sitting at my desk relaxed tonight and thrilling in the accomplishment of my team at the day j.o.b. for their remarkable commitment to achieving goals and a success mindset. As the leader of my organization, I'm privileged to set the vision and then work with my company to make it happen.

This week we set a goal to achieve a level of growth never accomplished in our company. At the beginning of the week, we were at 90% of our stated goal and it looked like nothing could stop us. But, as is often the case when someone is trying to get to a place never visited before, obstacles have a way of testing desire and resolve.

By mid-week, we were knocked down to 80% of our goal. It was discouraging. We grouped and locked our focus on the goal and began to overcome the challenges put in our way. By this afternoon, momentum grew and sales flowed. Little by little success began to build again, and by 5:15pm tonight at the end of the week we hit the goal! We broke through the barrier and achieved a goal that had never been accomplished in our company. Next week, we celebrate our success! I've started tonight!

The power of the vision coupled by persistence when confronting set-backs yields amazing results. This type of success mindset is powerful. The power of our mind creates our reality.

Michael Phelps Dreaming Big

"Dream as big as you can dream and anything is possible"

Michael Phelps exclaimed these words after winning his 7th Gold medal by only one one-hundreth of a second.

Dream...believe...desire...take action...persist...get results. What an inspiration in showing me an example of the success mindset.

Tony Robbins - Why We Do What We Do

I'm a Tony Robbins fan. Sometimes I think he tries to pack too much information in a single message, but mostly he is right on describing how successful minds work to achieve great results.

Here's a video from his appearance at TED. You may have seen it already. That's okay. I suggest watching it again. I get something new each time I view it.

In the video, one of the things Robbins talks about is how choosing to think about something or ourselves leads to emotions and feelings. These feelings drive the actions we take leading to either positive or negative results.

It's a theme that you'll see over and over on this blog. To get successful results in our lives, we must start with our thoughts. Focus on your thinking rather than trying to change the result.

The video is very good. I'll warn you about the language. Robbins throws out some f-bombs and others.

5 "Musts" of Major Success

I'm reading The Answer by John Assaraf & Murray Smith. It's an excellent guide to creating the conditions in your mind and subconscious to attain the vision you have for your financial and business success.

Five Musts if you want to create success on every level in terms of financial freedom and a massive happy and fulfilled life...
  1. You must find something that stirs your soul.
  2. You must become excellent at it.
  3. You must recondition your mind to believe you can have it and achieve it.
  4. You must understand how to make money at it.
  5. You must take daily action.

I agree, and the more that I achieve and move forward, the more convinced I am that #3 presents the most challenge, but uncovering unproductive beliefs and reconditioning them yield tremendous results.
